2026 Montana Dan Test & Clinic
Hi WTSDA Family,
We are excited to invite and welcome you to Great Falls for a Region 1 Dan test and Clinic! Below are the essential schedule updates, lodging details, and travel logistics for our big weekend.
The Weekend Schedule
Saturday, Sept. 12 (Testing & Invitational):
- Black Belt Test: Doors open at 7:30 AM; testing begins at 8:00 AM.
The Heisey Community Center 313 7th St N, Great Falls, MT - Invitational Tournament: Kicks off at 12:00 PM
- Black Belt Dinner: Tentatively scheduled for 6:30 PM for out-of-town guests and advanced ranks. Formal Blues for Dans! More info to follow on location, stay tuned.
- Sunday, Sept. 13 (Clinics & Social):
- Gup & Dan Clinics: Morning sessions start at 8:30 AM at the Heisey Center ($30 per student). https://form.jotform.com/WTSDARegion1/2026-gftsd-clinic
- Lunch @ the Dojang: Free burgers and hot dogs at 12:30 PM with yard games and indoor obstacle course.
Official Lodging Recommendation
- Hotel Choice: We highly recommend booking at the Staybridge Suites Great Falls.
- Amenities: Includes a free hot breakfast buffet to fuel up before competing and an indoor pool and hot tub.
- Location Perks: Sits right by the River’s Edge Trail for light walks and a beautiful view of the river.
Travel & Deadlines
- Flight Tip: Get your tickets now! Fly directly into Great Falls (GTF) or choose Bozeman or Missoula for a 3 hour drive to Great Falls.
Train hard, travel safely, and we will see you on the mat to welcome our special guests, Master Uttech (R19), Master Noriega (R20), Mrs. Barb Noriega (R20), Mr. Doug Lewis (R3), and Mrs. Lisa Lewis(R3)!
